Event: The Official Launch Of Cambodia Fintech Association


A Movement That Reshape Cambodia’s Economy

15th August 2018 marked a momentous occasion where we witnessed a movement that supports the development of innovative financial technologies and lives of the Cambodians. Vivaz Capital, together with our partners, clients and distinguished guests attended the official launch of the Cambodia Fintech Association at the iconic Rosewood Hotel in Phnom Penh. Both our Managing Director, Mr. Alan Wong, as well as our Executive Director, Ms. Celine Quek were among the VIPs invited to grace this event. We were also honored to grace the event together with Her Excellency, Mdm. Chea Serey, Assistant Governor and Director General of National Bank of Cambodia, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Sok Puthyvuth, Chairman of ICT Federation as well as Mr. Roy Teo, Executive Director from Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Cambodia Fintech Association, the national not-for-profit organization, aims to create a healthy and regulated environment for Fintech commmunity – Fintech Startups, Hubs, Accelerators and VCs to grow in Cambodia. They aspire to build Cambodia into the leading Indochine country for Fintech Innovation and Investment in the region. They also target to achieve this by collaborating with all stakeholders to create the best possible regulatory environment; by fostering an ecosystem of supportive partners and network in order for Fintech companies to thrive and grow in Cambodia.

This movement set the tone for our commitment and continuous effort towards the growth of Cambodia’s economy, bringing our experiences and knowledge to build a better tomorrow.

Key Highlights of the CFA Event

In addition to the launch of the CFA, Cambodia’s central bank has also explored the use of blockchain technology
to track interbank payments, said Lee.
